  25. This momentariy current drop is typical on 1A ESS switches which used to be 
  26. very common but are tending to be retired now.  Many vendors use the "forward 
  27. disconnect" feature in the design of answering machines and those nasty 
  28. automatic solicitation machines that initiate calles to determine when the 
  29. other end has disconnected.  This momentary current drop can be masked on 
  30. "foreign exchange" lines or lines that are serviced by SLC (Subscriber Loop 
  31. Carrier).
