- This momentariy current drop is typical on 1A ESS switches which used to be
- very common but are tending to be retired now. Many vendors use the "forward
- disconnect" feature in the design of answering machines and those nasty
- automatic solicitation machines that initiate calles to determine when the
- other end has disconnected. This momentary current drop can be masked on
- "foreign exchange" lines or lines that are serviced by SLC (Subscriber Loop
- Carrier).
